I used to be a smoker, networking was easy. Packed into the smoking area like sardines, all with the commonality of being freezing cold, conversation tended to flow smoothly between me and my fellow outcasts. Everyone always seemed up for a chat which made networking feel incredibly comfortable and relaxed. Those days are gone, and with the introduction of warnings on cigarette packets, smoking isn’t such a social sport.

So you are probably well aware by now that I am a BIG fan of automation, or what I like to call automagical (you’re welcome). Why spend your valuable time on something when fantastic software or outsourcing systems can do the dreary stuff for you?! This is why I have fallen in love with Stripe. A pain point for a lot of business owners is payments. It’s starts with a fabulous invoice and great intentions. Clients open it (awesome, here comes the pay packet) and then, inevitably one thing rolls into another, distractions happen, meetings are scheduled…before we know it, our invoice is at the bottom of a very long list of priorities.

Mothers in business is a topic I am passionate about. I am telling you now, juggling business and babies is not an easy feat. Breastfeeding and Bookkeeping is a skill I had to learn, quick! Although there is a wealth of mothers out there who are fierce business women, I feel they are barely spoken of. I wanted to write something as homage to those mothers who haven’t chosen baby or business but have instead attempted to create a life where both are balanced. You can be a doting mother AND a successful entrepreneur, but sadly our world doesn’t often publicise this. Well here’s why it can work. For those on the brink of motherhood who might feel forced to choose…think again.
